Batch #80 - Red German Lager
Started batch on Feb 20, 2012
Recipe:
- 6 lb Red Extract Malt (Midwest)
- 1 lb Crystal Malt (20 Lovibond)
- 1.0 oz hop pellets (Perle, 8.7% alpha) 60 min
- 1.0 oz hop pallets ( Saaz, last 10 minutes
- 1.0 oz hop pallets ( Cascade, last 3 minutes)
- Yeast Safelager W-34/70lager type)
- Specific gravity 1,0xx
Procedure:
Standard procedure. Fermenting in 62F in conical fermenter.
Progress log:
- Feb 21, 2012 - fermentation every 6 seconds in the morning, every 2 seconds in the evenning.
- Feb 22, 2012 - fermentation every 2 seconds in the morning.
- Feb 26, 2012 - fermentation practically done. Removed 2 cups of dead yeast from the bottom of fermenter.
- Mar 03, 2012 - removing 1 cup of sediment every day.
Evaluation:
