Batch #70 - American Paulaner

Started batch on Jul 04, 2011:

Recipe:

  • 6.0 lb Wheat Malt Extract (www.midwestsupplies.com)
  • 0.75 oz hop pellets (Willemette, 4.7% alpha) 60 min
  • 0.25 oz hop pellets - finishing (Cascade, 6.1% alpha) 20 min
  • 4oz Munich Dark malt, steeped in 150F for 30 minutes
  • Safbrew WB-06 yeast (dry wheat ale type)
  • Specific gravity 1,042

Procedure:

Sanitized everything with Star San. Boiled wort for 60 minutes and then cooled down with cooper coil cooler. Pitched yeast at 25C. Covered plastic bucket with the tight cover and the airlock filled with Chopin vodka. Kept in basement temperature (~70F)

Progress log:

  • Jul 31, 2011: Fermentation in the evenning every 1sec.
  • Aug 08, 2011 - Racked to secondary when fermentationn stopped.
