Started batch on May. 15, 2011:
Recipe:
- 6.0 Lb Midwest Wheat Extract (www.midwestsupplies.com)
- 1.5 lb Munton's Extra Light extraxt
- 0.75 oz hop pellets - bitterness (Warrior, 17% alpha) 60 min.
- 1.0 oz hop pellets - finishing (Tettnang, 4.5000% alpha) 20 min/li>
- 1 tbs Irish Moss, last 15 min
- 1.0 oz hop pellets - aroma (Tettnang, 4.5% alpha) less then 5 min
- 1.0 lb Crystal malt, (10 Lovibond)
- Safbrew WB-06 wheat dry yeast ( ale type)
- Specific gravity 1,054
Procedure:
- May 15, 2011 - Cooled to 25C and pitched dehydrated per instruction wheat yeast.
Progress log:
- May 16, 2011 - Fermentation visible after 6 hours, every 2 sec. next morning and every 1 sec. in the evenning.
- May 17, 2011 - Fermentation every 3 sec. in the morning......
- May 23, 2011 - Racked to secondary at specific gravity 1,012.
- Jun 5, 2011 - Kegged
Evaluation:
- May 23, 2011 - Wheat beer taste and aroma at racking to secondary, like Pschorr:-)
- Jun 9, 2011 - Tried after 4 days in kegg: very good and Joana had one, too.
