Started batch n the afternoon on Mar 27, 2011:

Recipe:

  • 6.0 Lb Northern Brewer dark malt extract
  • 1.5 lb Munton's Plain Light extraxt
  • 0.75 oz hop pellets - bitterness (Warrior, 17% alpha) 60 min
  • 1.0 oz hop pellets - finishing (Willamette, 4.7% alpha) 20 min/li>
  • 1 tbs Irish Moss, last 15 min
  • 0.75 oz hop pellets - aroma (Willamette, 4.7% alpha) less then 5 min
  • 1.0 lb Crystal malt, (10 Lovibond)
  • Safale S-04 dry yeast ( ale type)
  • Specific gravity 1,060

Procedure:

Progress log:

  • Mar 28, 2011 - Fermentation visible in the morning (every 5 sec.), after 24 hours every 2 sec.
  • Mar 30, 2011 - Fermentation slowed down (every 10 sec.)
  • Mar 31, 2011 - Racked to secondary at 1,022, clean, good taste
  • Apr 08, 2011 - Kegged at 1,020, clean, chocolate taste

Evaluation:

  • Apr 18, 2011 taste exellent
  • Apr 24, 2011 finished by guests during Estern Brunch. Everybody liked it, Ian and Sara made many trips to the basement.
